變速箱與差速器有一公用的油池，其間是相通的。在拉出油尺之前，應(yīng)將護罩及手柄上的臟東西都擦干凈。把變速桿放在P位或N位，將發(fā)動機在怠速時至少運轉(zhuǎn)一分鐘，汽車需要停放在水平路面上，這樣才能確保在差速器和變速器之間的油位正常、穩(wěn)定。檢查應(yīng)在油液正常工作溫度（50~90）℃之間進行。

變速箱缺油一般不會有提示。自動變速器油缺少，油面過低，將導(dǎo)致自動變速器不能自動換擋。在車在提速時，表現(xiàn)很“遲鈍”，即使是給了一腳油，發(fā)動機轉(zhuǎn)速上去了，但是只聽發(fā)動機聲音很大，就是不見車速提高。如果變速箱油壓不足，會導(dǎo)致變速箱內(nèi)錐形輪的異常磨損，有可能會使異響聲音比較大。后面的結(jié)果就是變速箱里面各種干摩擦，并且會把離合器燒掉，就需要大修了。
